In Part One of “Michael Cohen Testifies!” (http://progressive-liberal.com/...) I addressed parts of Michael Cohen’s testimony before the House Oversight Committee and stated “perhaps the most important thing that happened during Cohen’s public testimony was when AOC (Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) expertly set up an entirely valid reason for congress to look into Trump’s Tax-Returns (https://www.c-span.org/).” And while I’m pretty sure that will be very important to getting to the bottom of Trump’s many crimes, in a a very real sense something else might be just a tiny bit more significant.
And what, pray tell, was that “tiny bit more significant” testimony, you ask? At one point early in the proceedings Cohen stated, “If Trump loses (in) 2020, there won't be a peaceful power transition.” (

In other words, Cohen, who knows Trump better than pretty much anyone, believes that if Trump loses his re-election bid – which is pretty likely, actually, considering how disliked Trump is and by so many – he’ll just declare himself the winner anyway and refuse to leave. But it gets even worse.
What Trump has said, “I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military... – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad.” (

This is some very, very frightening sh-t. Clearly, obviously, Trump is setting himself up as the Dictator and Chief of the United States. That is not what America is or ever has been about in it’s entire, nearly 250-years of existence. As the above referenced Slate article put it, “... it appears to be a vague threat that “tough” supporters in the military and police—who are presumably armed and whose work can involve using physical violence—will do something that will result in a “very bad, very bad” outcome if pushed to a “certain point” by the president’s political opponents.” (

The aforementioned State piece concludes, “Whether or not you view this as empty bluster, that suggestion alone should chill supporters of liberal democracy as much as anything Trump has ever said.” I couldn’t agree more. (

In fact, I think it’s getting to a point where Congress has to call our military leaders as well as police officers across America to testify under oath before the House and declare whether they stand for the Constitution and with the United States of America, are loyal to their oath, or if their loyalty is to Donald J. Trump regardless of what it says in our Constitution, regardless of how Americans might vote in 2020, regardless of the rule of law? They need to state publicly where they stand. Do they intend to commit treason for Trump – now there’s a right-wing bumper-sticker for you! Traitors For Trump! – if it comes to that?
And if they, the military and the police, are traitors, we should all know that now.
